A permanent National genocide memorial in remembrance of more than one million victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. The memorial is a place of remembrance and learning where more than 250,000 victims of the Genocide have been laid to rest. Many people who lost loved ones in the Genocide visit to remember and grieve. There is no entrance fee and donations are gratefully accepted.
The Kigali Genocide Memorial is a historical site dedicated to the remembrance of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. It serves as a tribute to the victims, a place for education, and a space for reflection.
A standard visit lasts between 2 to 3 hours, depending on the level of engagement with exhibits and reflection time.
Visitors can explore the memorial at their own pace or request a guided tour (fees may apply). Audio guides are also available.
